Cult Introductions - Ranting

Are you sure this is England, it's too hot!

For those of you that couldn't understand, it's hot today, which as a resident of the UK is always an odd thing. Also I say hot, but it's like 25'C (77'F) which to anyone living in a hotter country, must seem absurd. But as English we can't handle the weather. We like it mild. But, enough about the conditions.

To anyone who doesn't want to here about my cults, turn off now.

I have always been quite secretive of my fandoms and hobbies, especially ones that are not mainstream, or have stirred up controversy in the past, so as a result it's always nice when other people join my fandom. Recently I noticed one of my friends have supported and started to like an Anime show, and it got me thinking, how would you attract people to your side.

But after a while I thought; with what. For this I will talk about Anime examples (please don't kill me,) many become fans from what they first see, with the USA this is usually Pokemon or another kids show, but this is where problems start, you will, for a while at least, judge a genre by its most popular examples. That has become a problem with the Anime genre, because people only see the fighting kids shows, that is all they presume. You will many mediums arguing that is incredibly diverse, but is it still acceptable.

When I introduce people, I will start with the popular shows that are clean and have a good plot line. But is everything really like this. When I look at the shows I watch, to what people know about, I realise, you only ever show the least controversial stuff. If I showed programmes I watch to my group now, (not part of my fandom) I would probably be mocked. Why? Because it is so left-field of the norm that is seems stupid and to others would demise the franchise. While a weirdo like me can handle it, someone who has little cultural or historical knowledge, it will feel out of place.

But, of course it is not just Anime that gets this, many will know of the idea of Fan-fiction. This can be quite "exotic", and to an outside of this sort of literature, like myself, it seems perverted. However; surely it is the same thing, it may seem normal to those already inside the cult, but to everyone else it is not. So, how can this be fixed? At the moment I don't see how it can be fixed.

As always, I'm about to turn it into something more controversial than it already is.

 - Couldn't you have just left it there?
 - But I have more points to make
 - Their not going to like you.
 - No one does anyway
 - That's true, loner.

Well, that was a bit harsh, but here we go. I talk about the "common heard" not understanding the extremist Fan-fiction and Genres, surely, this can be used as an example in life. While many people will use this to compare the odd extremes of culture, such as the idea that Japan is really weird, because they don't do things the western way. What about extremist ideologies.

Many look at war conflicts or extremist groups and ponder the motives, but surely, in the same way many become accustom to the fan fictions or, in my case, odd Anime genres. To those involved in the extremist groups it will only be normal, or at the very least acceptable. This could also explain why many undercover agents defect to the other side, because, over time you become accustom to the ideology. So does this means that wars and conflicts are caused by peoples ignorance of the other persons view? I'll let you decide.

So once again, I've turned an innocent post about Anime into a political decision, well done. -_- This was quite a serious genre, so I'll let you make your own decision, this is simply just one angle.

Understand your enemy, and you'll understand your faults

Alice Cooper-ness - Reality

This is Not About Alice Cooper

For reference it was a note to his song "schools out". As many from all over will know, this marks the end of the school year. While some of you may have finished recently, I have finished today. Woohoo.

It has been a pretty quiet few days for me, but one that has left me with concerns. We start on Monday, where I had few worries about the day. As a reward from the drama department after our production (yes, I do shows) we got to go to the Harry Potter Studios. This was enjoyable and I had a great time, but as this is the awkward mans blog, there is bound to be some areas I was concerned with. To remember the place, I took pictures, this would be normal, but I felt so out of place. While other tourists brought Nikon Cameras and professional gear. I used the small lens on my phone. I hated taking photos, it made me look out of place, and is poof that your surroundings do affect your mental state. Despite this I was forced to pay London's prices, so I wonder, is it really that great to live in London, wouldn't it be better (especially as a young person) to live in a more rural or just less urban setting. This could explain why many people don't move to London as young adults, yet despite this, London is growing, so can opportunity really exceed living cost, apparently so. Yet the next largest cities (Birmingham / Manchester / Glasgow) are not growing by as much, so what makes London so special. So once again, we find ourselves with an economics question. I bet you love me. -_-

Tuesday is where the stress set in as summer project work kicked in. Moreover; I had missed Mondays lessons and had to catch up. So, inevitably I was left feeling down, again. But again this just left me pondering the importance of the work, will I be here next year (in school) and how much of my summer will be wasted. But again, this got me depressed, so lets move on, it's never good to continue when you feel down.

Finally we end up with Today, Wednesday. Final day of School, where I ended up not doing as much as I thought. I wasn't heavily worked, as I had expected, and didn't use a pen for most of the day. But after the inevitable assembly, I asked myself, what shall I do with myself. As much as I realised I had projects to do. School was always a daily routine, as many find myself content with the norm. While I am not bashing holidays, I feel the summer one is too long. Many kids find themselves not knowing what to do, and because of the nature of our country they do not choose to expand their knowledge but instead waste their precious hours.

 - Yeah, but you do that
 - So...
 - Isn't that contradicting
 - You know, people can do things that they think are wrong.

And surely that is a point, many kids, know they should be productive, but don't. Why, because we don't have the mentality. The only way this will change is by changing the kids. In the mean time one way to do this is to reduce the summer holiday. Because, if kids are never wasting their lives they will never feel worthless or unprepared for school. But maybe I'm a dreamer. On a side note, 10 point to which one of my friends, daily review styles I ripped off.

Never miss an opportunity.

Assassinate - Reality

School, y u no let me succeed.

 - Did you just use a meme to start your post.
 - Yes, so?
 - Bit lame isn't it. Who else seriously does this.
 - Maybe I'll be a trend setter
 - hahahahahaaaaaaa

OK, well maybe that wasn't the best way to start. Usually I'll come up with a topic and give an opinion and debate by the end. This week however; its just my life. I know boring. I'll start with our new game - Assassins.

Now, we're at the end of AS Level, we are looking at Universities for the following year. After going to one Uni, a friend came across a club with the same name. Clearly he was interested. After researching them, he came to us (the group), and proposed this new idea for a game. Many of us have agreed to play, personally I thought; I might have a chance. As it turns out, I died after a week. Success! -_-

The Rules:
Each person is given a target. Your aim to "kill" them. You then collect their target and try to "kill" them until, you are killed yourselves.
 - How do you "kill"? - Tap someone on the back of their neck. To add, you can't be seen by them or any other people.
 - What happens if you're seen? - You are out. Your chaser is now after your target.
 - How do you win? - Be the last survivor.

I feel, I must have been the worst player however; I failed in an assassination, was given an extra chance and got killed soon after I must be at -1 points. So once again proof that my awkwardness around others failing me. This, however is a popular game, one my friends have mentioned in their blogs. But if nothing else, it fixes the title and proves I'm not psychotic.

The winner is not the one who shouts the loudest, but the one that's still standing by the end.
