School Life 1 - Reality

Another Long Day

In terms of Homework, this week is going to be a disgrace. I am honestly don't know how I can be so far behind, I am now seriously concerned for my time.
This. Is. Not. Good.
Breathe, Calm, Settle. Alright, lets try this again... how are all of you?

After School today we had a coursework presentation evening. So I spent an evening showing people round the technology rooms and showing them my work. That seemed terrible to me because I always feel my work is of a poor standard. Everyone just stands there saying, "it's not that bad". But I know. -_- You all have a small pact, saying I'm great, but inside you know it's garbage. I can read you.

To add to my day we also had our conversation at Lunch, for public decentcy reasons we will not go into details but what you can know is that it was about sex related items, aswell as delving into my fears, it was not a comfortable situation. It was made worse with poorly timed innuendos making it seem far too real. But please don't mock my fears...
 - [Random Voice] Why?
 - It's not nice, I wouldn't do something like that.
 - ....
 - Shut up, it was funny. [Prentend I didn't do this]

It is always important to keep on top of work as to not fall behind. This is made more real when you realise that my first Exam is in 2 weeks. Scary. However; talking about time we should probably look at my blog history, having started this on April 1st. It is almost a month since its inception, so I thought I'd share the page views graph (below). Guess which days I've been posting. Good Luck to all of you and hope the best for the future.

Learning - Ranting

I Can't Concentrate on Work!!

With Exams coming up I have been expected to work and get on with revision, to that concept I say, argh. It's so annoying not being able to get on. It really doesn't matter how I force myself I just don't want to concentrate on it for more than 5 minutes. -_-

So from now on I've decided to find ways to motivate me. This will be things like rewards as well as traditional time pressure. I think one Youtuber described it perfectly when talking about ADHD, when he said, he's not lazy, he just doesn't do work until just before the deadline. Now obviously I don't have ADHD, I'm just lazy and should push and punish myself until I get on. But that being said, are people putting too much emphisis on learning disabilities, there has been a rise in cases of ADHD and other related issues, and although some of them are genuine, how many would not have been classed under this system 20 years ago. Is this rise due to a more relaxed borderline or a public view from parents that a child who doesn't get problems immediately or is poorly behaved, is suffering. Without consideration, that the child isn't naturally gifted, or the parents own fault. This is problem that many have discussed recently.

However; like anything there is another side to this.
 - It could be based on the further pressure education has on the children of today, as the pressure to keep up with other countries increases.
 - True. But is this for our own good, if we together try to make ourselves collectively smarter we can compete with other nations and use our unique skills, while education IS important because we can't rely on manufacturing in this country and instead we must utilise our use of technology.

Also by saying your child has learning difficulties you have categorised them, making them believe they either, can never achieve because of their own circumstance or alternatively give them an excuse to never push out their full potential. So are the acceptance of wider labels really worth it, as it puts more pressure on a already stretched health care system.

You don't have to listen to me though, what I say never meant anything.

The only person stopping you is yourself

Saint's Day - Ranting

School is Killing Me

So today, I'm back in school. So this should be fun and exciting and.... ahh, what am I kidding, considering how much I don't think I did during the term break and how much I need to do, I'm screwed. -_- Well never mind, let's just enjoy time with our friends. Maybe I should be less negative, or more realistic.

To anyone living in the UK, you'll probably know that today is St. George's day. So it's a day we celebrate in the appropriate manner. By having the news do a 5 minute article and amusing our friends with English banter, before doing absolutely NO partying. That's right, very few actually care about today.

To any non Brits, St. George's day is our national day. It's sort of what we have instead of an Independence day. So why don't we have an Independence day, well we've always been independent. We're the country most other countries break away from, thanks guys, could have stuck around a bit longer.  To anyone interested, all of the British Isles countries have a saint's day, look it up.

 - [Annoying Voice] What about the establishment of the Monarchy in 1066, that united England or the formation of the UK on 1st May 1707.
 - Well, we don't really have a celebratory day for the first date and this is St. George's day, relating to England, not the UK. Hence why I mentioned the other saint's day's earlier. Really Guys keep up.

So what do I think of this date; I agree with the concept of a flag day or national holiday, but considering how few care about it and the fact it is not treated as a holiday, should it even stand to mean anything. I say this in comparison to the 4th of July in the US where it is well known and celebrated. Also, it is quite amusing how the most well known of the Saint's days - St. Patrick's Day, is from the only independent state. But what should also be pointed out is the out dated regions, while it is true that only the countries (of the UK) have Saint's day's what about Northern Ireland, or if they are to be included why not any of the other crown colonies, such as the Isle of Mann or Jersey. Then we open up a whole new realm of possibilities. So, should we have Saint's day; Yes, but far more celebrated. This may be hard to do considering how each country likes their identidy, so you can't really have a UK day without someone getting stroppy, and thats usually the others mutually ganging up on England, no-one like us.

On a more cheery note; a package came today that said on the box, "Live Plants", I'm sitting in my room waiting for the Triffid attack.

Be Proud of Where you come from

Piles of Books - Reading

This isn't a review.

When I originally set up this blog, as shown by the title, my posts would either be on Ranting (My Views), Reality (My Life) and Reading (Books I enjoy). This has however not been the case, I wasn't a very avid reader and I was hoping this blog would change that, it hasn't. Well it's hard to change. -_-

If you want to be pedantic about it you could say that you are the one doing the reading, or that I'm reading up on my life, but ultimately there will be few reviews on actual books, sorry book lovers. But if I'm to do reviews on books I'll be reading then the only choice I have at this moment is my School Books.

This this is another revision noted post, how delightful. Like many in my School and around the country, I am preparing for my May Exams. These are to determine my grade for AS, as well as the chances I'll be progressing into next year, and if you read my last post you'll know that I'm not overly self confident with my final grade. Talking of my friends, I should do a heads up to some of their blogs, after one of them was kind enough to include me in them. This is for anyone who wants to stalk me from an alternative viewpoint or who want to look at better quality standards of writing.

 - Alicia: http://allaboutmealiciaf.blogspot.co.uk/
 - Amy: http://ameliaalicesviewsonlifeandstuff.blogspot.co.uk/
 - Claire: http://clairesblogofwonder.blogspot.co.uk/
 - Elli: http://maalbw.blogspot.co.uk/
 - Giancarlo: http://lookingformysheep.blogspot.co.uk/

Now that the formalities are out of the way lets do a [cough] book [cough] review. To be honest this is less of a book review and more of me telling you how great my subject is.  Although I have struggled at many subjects, that, at least, I've enjoyed. As a result I strongly endorse Economics for its wider view on the world, while looking at the reasons for government and banking intervention, why is it important that wages and prices rise, while making sure that our economy is strong and competitive and why that is more important than you think. So for you I strongly recommend any Economics related books, in terms of wider education courses, I feel it is under appreciated and should be more popular amongst other students. Many of us will work in an office or for a large company at some point. So show me why an understanding of your companies position would be less important than the study of human think patterns (No offence to the philosophy people.) So Economics is not just a study of the economy but the foundations that our society is based upon and it is only by understanding it that we can manipulate it into something better.

Sorry if that seemed a bit extended, I will try to make a book review at some point in the future, but for now this will have to do, along with my other topics of Ranting, Reality, Reviews and other things beginning with R. For any of you asking why 'R', it's a nod to Sir William Curtis who set down the basics for education being that children should know the three 'R's of learning, which were Reading (Hence, why this is first), Writing and Arithmetic, the irony being only one of these starts with 'r', but hey, maybe it just sounds cool.

Education is the Ultimate Weapon for World Control

Exam Revision - Ranting

I feel Stressed.

Well it was bound to happen -_- You try and make any progress with revision and you find out you know nothing, it scares you and you run away. I like the fact that I don't have to be drowned out by noisy class mates, but I'll be honest. I want my classroom back. I like it when the teacher goes through everything systematically.

However there is one thing I despise. That I have to do, so many blasted test papers. I hate them honestly. The time pressure kills me. I want to crawl up and weep. But life won't let you sit in a corner moping your sad existence away. So, I having to get up again and try, just so I can get beaten up by life again.

It's a pain to continue, I don't want to, why me? I used to consider myself quite smart, up with the brightest in the year. But I don't know what to make of myself anymore, I see my peers pass me and despite their troubles, the grades they got in the mock prove that they are more suited than myself. This is the time of year that many young people think of suicide and other grizzly things. But lets not make this a dark and disturbing post, I WILL be here next week.

Sometimes though, we need to look at ourselves. What is it that makes us who we are. We are going to make it through this. Because life is no easy ride. It is my belief that as human we are most stressed and potentially overworked of all the animals. By choosing to be human we are playing life in hard mode. After all look at the responsibilities we face as a species. While it is true that we are, in our current state, killing some habitats. It is also impossible for the world to survive if we were to suddenly disappear. This is the price of changing the world so dramatically. But; surely by the fact we have accomplished so much, by the fact we have worked our way to the top, shows that it is not in our nature to simply give up. We are determined creatures, who can get through any adversity, whether this being a test, or an argument or a crisis. We will always fight until the end. Because; no animal would survive if they gave up at any obstacle.

These exams may be one of the largest hurdles in my life to date, but they are ones that can either be overcome or adapted. I may not think I'm as smart as I used to be. But I can give it the best shot I have, because my rivals aren't going to be laying down either.

In times like this it is always good to share information and advice. While some do have a strong motivation, others struggle to get past a point, try and help those who struggle to get over jumps, get over them a little bit quicker, so they can help themselves for the future

Your Goals are Always Achievable, it's your Motivation that Varies.

Birthday Bananza - Reality

Life has many pleasant surprises

This week is likely to made up of me panicking about revision, as I desperately try to finish as much as possible before the deadline. This means that I'm likely to more stressed at the end of the holiday than when I started, logical. But even so, this is starting to get serious.

As for today, I thought it was enjoyable. It was great to catch up with so many friends. New (Thomas), Old (Paige/Ed) and my gang of regulars. For any of you who know my friends, by the fact you've read this far I presume you do, it was a double birthday. ( Elli and Maddy.) Which is enjoyable as it meant the group was fully united. We started off with laser tag before ending on a Pizza Hut visit and a further Dominoes Visit.
I'VE NEVER HAD SO MUCH PIZZA.

 - [Random Shout] Fat!!
 - It's Hormones
 - You should diet.
 - Why? I look like a stick, a tall lanky stick -_-

But I've still got one more to go to tomorrow. (For the other member). There will be less people but it'll be good to watch a film. So I'll leave you with my words of wisdom...

When life gives you memories enjoy them. Because time is limited, but your memories are limitless. I enjoy these special moments, not because of my friends but for the impact I'll leave on them, and if done well, these imprints will be permanent.

Live to the Full

Personal Wealth - Reality and Ranting

Where do I fit in?

We had a revision session day, this turned out to be a day of me getting frustrated at the plotter cutter, using too much vinyl and still having to do more before the half terms up. So, other than the stress, the pressure and the looming deadline that threatens to break me, I feel fiiinnneee. Oh and I only have to fit in 7 hours of revision a day! -_-

Despite this tedious, but useful day, my classmates and I brought up various conversation topics. However; the one I continued to think of was, how rich am I?

Personally, not very, I have a bit of money saved up in my account, but to be honest, if I moved out now, I would have to find a job pretty darn quick, before the bills started rolling in. The conversation revolved around the apparent level of wealth depending on where you live. I had started this by mentioning that there is an area in New York where a $250'000 a year wage is middle class. As compared to a £26'500 ($44'000) average wage in Britain. If it comes down to wage, then it is clear I'm slightly above average. (Not going to tell you what though.) However is this comparable to my area or schooling?

My friend mentioned that theirs varies (won't say for privacy reasons) but was this to do with where they live or family background. But now we're starting to move into stereotypes. Think about this; Would you rob a house that is well guarded in a well-off estate, like the Golden Triangle (for anyone in Norwich), because it is more likely that they have valuable items, without any prior knowledge to the person or people you are robbing. And the very fact that this is well documented proves that when it comes to wealth, that we are very stereotypical people. Or is this just the safest bet.

So with that in mind, would people treat me differently, if they found out that I live in a detached 3 bedroom house in a good neighbourhood, would I be treated differently, even if I never told you my living standards. But this comes down to the point, we have 'good' and 'bad' areas where we live, and house prices will changing depending on your area, but not necessarily house quality. So is it right to say people are less fortunate depending on where they live. I'm not talking the difference between a mansion and a flat, but the price difference between two different 3 bedroom houses being on different sides of the highway.

Also, if I had told you that we once had a cleaner that came round once a week. Would your view of me change, would it change again if I told you the events or why we decided to get one. Or is the very nature of having a bit of spare cash to use seen as something far above or far below your own perceived level. But surely that is what it is. You perceive your own wealth. Are you happy with what you have? Or unhappy with how life could turn out? Would earning $250'000 a week make you feel more content (economic security) or more stressed (because of the pressure to perform) than earning $25'000 (£15'000 - just above minimum wage) a week.

This was quite a controversial topic to cover, and I'm NOT picking ANYONE. But this is something I wanted to discuss. Hope it makes you think whether you are happy with your living standards, or whether your situation means it would be better to have more.

Past Week Round-up Review

On a side note, at the time of writing this, my blog has 72 views, from 2 posts, who the hell is reading this! 5/6 friends and a load of random strangers, it seems concerning. (no offence to anyone)

What was important to me in the last week.

School Holidays
To anyone living in England or Wales it's well known the Easter Half term starts next week, so while in years gone, this would be a time for chilling and relaxing. Sitting on the lawn and tanning...
[Random Shout]
 - You! Tanning.
 - Shh, they don't have know I'm as pale as a ghost.
But seriously, I have a feeling this holiday going to be busy... with revision. [Sarcasm] I'm sooo excited. It is annoying, the fact I've been instructed to spend 7 hours a day on it, but what can you do, at least there are days out during this period (Birthday Parties). At least there is only two opportunities for me to ruin this friendship (as opposed to everyday at school). It'll be nice to have some time alone.

Coursework Deadlines
I had, guess what? ... That's right, a deadline. My technology coursework to be more precise. But seriously; it was such an effort trying to get it completed. I still have work to on it for Monday (Revision day in School). I didn't expect it to be this hard. On top of that my classmates are on targets for better grades than me. Ugh. Such effort! I think it just seems more depressing as I managed to get full marks for my GCSE coursework last year, now I'm just about making the grade. What a difference a year makes.

End of Anime Season
[Random Shout]
 - Aahahhaaahhaaahhaaahhhhh.
 - Ugh, fine, get it out of your system. -_-
 - Ahahaahh, NEERRRDDD!!
 - Thanks, Mature. ... and we're called Otaku's
With it being the end of winter last week (week before) that really only meant one thing to me; Season finales. It was quite an exiting end to many episodes, with one of them finishing 1st on the trending page and having a second season announced. Brilliant. But my favourite did fall down the order, so mixed feelings. But a new season has started this week and I'm really looking forward to some shows, especially the upcoming Mekaku City Actors. Maybe I'm taking this too seriously. But what do expect from a recluse such as myself.

Formula One
Yes, I'm a motor sport fan, so yes, this is exciting for me. Watching 22 cars parade around a circuit for an hour and 45min. With only the occasional crash. Wow, I'm really selling this. Maybe I'll blog about this in the future. So as you (most likely) didn't know, the first two rounds have already been completed and the third is this weekend (6th April). However; it's great that after 4 years of Red Bull domination we now have a different car on top, Hamilton's. Woo, Britain! (Nationalist Screech) Well, that's just my thing.

I know your not that interested in my life, that's fine. Just something to get off my chest really. I hope you all have a good week, see you soon

No. 1

Ooo look, a blog, how original.

Hi, I'm no-one special. These posts will mostly be about my view of the world. Me, from my deluded socially awkward aspect on the world. I often find that I get in a lot of social problems, but I'm not always sure how to deal with it. These posts are simply my view point of real life events, whether they appear to be within my social group or in the news (depending on what I feel like). If you have any questions or topics you'll like me to cover, feel free to comment.

As for myself, I'm a British male teen taking A-Levels. Oh My God! So Unique. -_-  I've often seen other friends blogs and posts and always feel a little left out. So this is my voice. Whether that is one of meek obscurity in the sea of ranting and 'slice of life' blogs. I consider myself quite sporty, others may consider me a bit of a geek, but that depends who you compare me with. Please, make your assumptions, I don't mind. You'll probably learn far more about me the more you read, but, to be honest, who even is reading this!

This may not be your thing and I don't blame you. This is basically here for me to improve my writing skill. Which can be easily judged by any well educated person, such as yourself. For those who have chosen to continue reading, I thank you, hold on this may take some time. ... Now what does this button do.  Aah! back, back , BACK, DELETE!

Keep an open mind
